At podDesking we have carefully taken many steps towards creating the ideal computer-based learning environment, and to offer best practise for group learning environments.

The Seating configuration we have created, not only conforms to Physical ergonomic standards, it also conforms to many Cognitive and Organizational ergonomic principles, as it creates a community environment with everyone sitting at between 45o and 60o angle, which promotes Collaboration as everybody faces each other in a non-confrontational manner, and provides excellent group dynamics. The evidence shows that Effective teams are an intermediary goal towards getting good, sustainable results.

Studies show that personal space is very important to individuals, and if invaded by another, makes them feel uncomfortable. With the clever use of angles we employ, these issues are reduced to an absolute minimum.

We have studied many Sociological best practises for teaching environments, and have distilled them into the products we now create.

The areas in green show a minimum requirement for personal space, and the red areas indicate any infraction of these areas.

Physical ergonomics deals with the human body's responses to physical and physiological stress.

Cognitive ergonomics, also known as engineering psychology, concerns mental processes such as perception, attention, cognition, motor control, and memory storage and retrieval as they affect interactions among humans and other elements of a system. Relevant topics include mental workload, vigilance, decision making, skilled performance, human error, human-computer interaction, and training.
